In the folder pane of your email, find and expand your Online Archive folder. You can see in this folder an INBOX folder which contains sub-folders with an mbox extension. On your computer, navigate to the folder you used to backup these emails. This downloads your email to your computer. Click the Choose button to select this folder. If you have a Microsoft 365 account and your IT or Microsoft 365 admin has enabled the archive mailbox for you, your Online Archive folder will appear in your Outlook folder pane. This example backs them up to a folder titled MacMailBackup. This will disable its junk mail filter so that it doesn’t interfere with SpamSieve. Uncheck Enable junk mail filtering on the Junk Mail Behaviors tab. If there is a Trust junk mail headers in messages option, uncheck it. How to Access the Online Archive in new Outlook for Mac Go to the Junk Mail tab of Apple Mail’s Settings window. What I had done, is directed the SpamSieve junk mail to the actual Mac Mail Junk folder (instead of setting up a separate Spam folder as instructed in the SpamSieve instructions). Retention policies control how long your messages will be saved. I installed SpamSieve for Mac Mail and want to set it up the same way I had on my old computer. Archive policies control how long messages are left in an email folder before they're moved to an archive. Your IT or Microsoft 365 administrator sets your archive and retention policies. To reduce the size and improve the performance of your primary mailbox, you can set Archive Policies that automatically move email items from your primary mailbox to your archive mailbox. Important: In order for your online archive mailbox to work with the new Outlook for Mac, your mailbox should be on a Microsoft365 server.įor easy online access, you can simply drag and drop messages from your primary mailbox into your archive.
